Lotus Root tea is a great tea for coughs and other problems related to the respiratory system. Whenever my daughter starts coughing I make this tea and substitute it for any other liquid present in her diet. It has a mild taste so your child wont reject it. Within a few days of having the tea, the cough diminishes and then disappear.
The tea can be done with dried lotus root or with the delicious fresh lotus packed with vitamins and minerals that is used in traditional Asian cuisine. The fresh lotus tea is more efficient against flu and colds accompanied with cough. So if you can find it, grate the lotus and pass through a cheese cloth, add more water, bring to a boil and simmer for 15 mins.
Dried Lotus Root Tea:
Take 3 to 4 pieces of the lotus root to 1 - 1/2 cup of water.
Bring them to a boil and simmer for 15-20 mins

WHEN THE TEMPEST FALLS
ReplyDeleteWhen the tempest falls
Seeds of tears wet the ground
Carrying in their wombs
The fruit of a new life:
LOVE!
Happiness will win the sadness
And overcome the rage.
Passion will conquest the madness,
Exceeding hearts with hope.
...And the tempest falls again,
Carrying in its womb
The embrio of a new war:
THE FREE WILL!
A fruit of a new sin,
Disagreement of a new age...
