Oliver and Cooper - School Food Gurus

This semester in school, I'm taking classes in Community Nutrition and Nutritional Education, and these classes are making me think about how can we change the way people eat on a large scale. While I still have the dream to see the world, first of all, having enough to eat (not too much neither too little, but just enough) and secondly, eating a well balanced diet, full of fresh, organic and nutritious fruits, vegetables and grains, I have to face the reality that most people still cannot and do not choose what to eat. Some people don't have the freedom to choose their own food due to their financial status, and some people can't because of the tremendous power of the food industry, which manipulate all spoonfuls that enter people's mouths.

Some people like Jamie Oliver and Ann Cooper inspire me everyday to believe that maybe one day my dream can come true. Both of them are doing a great job in helping to provide healthy meals to the school kids around Europe and the U.S. as well as spreading the benefits of adopting a healthy lifestyle. Below are the videos of both advocates of the healthy eating in school!!!

If you want to help Jamie change the way the American kids eat, go to his website and sign the petition here to put pressure on leaders who can help them improve food quality in the schools. Thank you!!!
